Here’s what’s coming up in 2018 and beyond!
(I switch back and forth between books to let me work on them with fresh eyes, so each book project has a codename so I can keep track of them all because I usually don’t come up with a title until a book is nearly done. Rest assured that I’m unlikely to release a book called “Ultraviolet”! :))
“Fiery Girls” (complete, release plans in progress)
This book, my first historical novel, tells the stories of two immigrant girls who meet during New York City’s 1909 “Uprising of the 20,000” garment workers’ strike, only one of whom survives the 1911 Triangle Waist Company factory fire which claimed 146 lives.
“Ultraviolet” (on hiatus as of June 2018)
In WWII a mother and daughter become spies and propagandists to deal with the loss of two family members. (This one is planned at a high level, but on hold for now while I work on “Valkyrie”.)
“Valkyrie” (in second draft September 2018)
Going back to contemporary novels for a bit! “Valkyrie” is the story of how a couple learns that their grandmothers have been feuding for nearly fifty years and what that feud does to their relationship and their lives. I’m aiming for fun, a bit ridiculous, and an absolute beach read, and the grandmothers would be played in the movie (some day, I hope!) by Jessica Walter (“Lucille Bluth”) and Imelda Staunton (“Dolores Umbridge”). Can’t you see them yelling at each other?? 🙂
